summary: 256 colour mode does not match xterm's colours exactly
class: semi-bug: This might or might not be a bug, depending on your precise definition of what a bug is.
difficulty: fun: Just needs tuits, and not many of them.
priority: low: We aren't sure whether to fix this or not.

fixed-in: 2005-10-14 r6393 9d31462c52d638d58729857a5f4435a2e1bc855f (0.59)

The RGB values of the colours used by the xterm 256 colour sequences
are not exactly the same as those used by xterm itself. They probably
should be.

The 256colres.pl script in the xterm distribution generates the
relevant RGB values.

(I believe the values we use were originally from xterm; xterm's values
probably changed in patch #166, 2002/03/25.)
